How to request deletion
Email hello@walkdeeznust.com from the NUST email address on your account, with the subject line "Delete my account". Include your display name so we can find you.
Sending from your own account address is how we verify the request — it is what stops someone else deleting your account. If you can no longer reach that mailbox, email us anyway and we will find another way to confirm it is you.
We acknowledge every request within two business days and complete the deletion within 30 days of verifying it. You will get a confirmation when it is done.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in link to Google
- Your profile: display name, photo, department, bio, topics and conversation style
- Your availability record, including any coordinates held for you
- Your invites, walks and agreed meeting points
- Your walker score, tier and walk counts
- Ratings you gave and ratings you received
- Your support correspondence, unless an issue is still open
Your walk chat is already gone before this point — messages are wiped by the database the moment a walk session ends, and we could never read them in the first place. See the privacy policy for how that works.
What we keep, and for how long
A small amount of information may survive deletion where the law requires it or where other people's safety depends on it:
- Safety flags raised about you — kept for 24 months, separately from your profile, so repeat behaviour can be identified.
- Records we must keep by law — for the period the relevant law requires.
- Aggregated, anonymised counts — these can no longer identify you and are kept indefinitely.
Deletion is permanent. We cannot restore an account or its data once it is deleted. If you would rather take a break, just stop marking yourself as available — you disappear from everyone's map and nobody can invite you while you are offline.
For the complete picture of what we collect and why, see the privacy policy.
